Basketball Recap: Greenville Comes Up Short

Greenville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 69-41 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers. The Patriots were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-15.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarvis Simmons, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. Simmons is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ijshawn Times, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Atlanta Classical Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andres Wright, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 20 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in boards. Miller McGowan was another key player, putting up 22 points and three steals.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Atlanta Classical Academy, their record is now 11-12.

Greenville has already played their next game, a 45-44 defeat against Elite Scholars Academy on the 8th. Atlanta Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
