Softball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona and Faribault pushed the score to 16-4 the last time they played Faribault, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Hawks fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 16-4.

Winona's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Faribault, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winona will welcome St. Charles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Faribault, they will be playing at home against Red Wing at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
