Martinsville suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Martinsville Bluestreaks vs. Shelbyville Rams

The Martinsville Bluestreaks suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They were beaten by Shelbyville 60-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Martinsville in their matchups with Shelbyville: they've now lost five in a row.

Shelbyville found their leader in underclassman Kenzie Jones, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tailyn Hancock was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.

Martinsville bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Shelbyville, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martinsville will take on Dugger Union at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Shelbyville, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Central A & M at 6:00 p.m. Central A & M is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
