Baseball Recap: Belle Plaine Gets the Win

Belle Plaine came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They skirted past the Worthington Trojans 3-2.

Riley Clements looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Belle Plaine's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bennet Balk, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Belle Plaine's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Worthington, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belle Plaine will head out to take on Jordan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Worthington, they will venture away from home to challenge Windom at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
