Soccer Recap: Lathrop Takes a Loss

Lathrop and Liberty Ranch squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lathrop had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Liberty Ranch Hawks by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 372nd in California, while the Hawks are ranked 87th in California).

Lathrop's goal came courtesy of Adrian Montanez, who's now up to three this season.

Lathrop's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Liberty Ranch, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Liberty Ranch, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Dixon on the 20th.
