University Prep had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 10-9 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Big Bear Bears. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ricky Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because University Prep is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8 otherwise. Gonzalez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Angel Herrera was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Danny Anumada also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
