Baseball Game Preview: Satellite Scorpions vs. Bayside Bears

The Satellite Scorpions will face off against the Bayside Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Satellite comes in on three and Bayside on six.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Satellite and Melbourne had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Satellite walked away with a 9-4 victory over Melbourne on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Scorpions have won by exactly five runs.

The team relied heavily on MJ Valdes, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Whobrey, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bayside never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Westwood 10-0. Considering the Bears have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Austin Still looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Ryan Ramroop and Alex Brzuchalski did most of the damage at the plate: Ramroop scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Brzuchalski scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Brzuchalski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Whitlow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Bayside's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Satellite, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything went Satellite's way against Bayside in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Satellite made off with an 11-1 victory. Does Satellite have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bayside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
