Baseball Recap: Archbishop Ryan Triumphs

Archbishop Ryan let Archbishop Wood stack four runs on them in the first inning on Tuesday but luckily Archbishop Ryan prevailed anyway. The Raiders and Ragdolls came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 7-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Raiders and Ragdolls also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Dave Perez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Archbishop Ryan is undefeated when Perez posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Flash Krzywicki was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Archbishop Ryan has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Wood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Archbishop Ryan will challenge rival Father Judge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Archbishop Wood is set to face off against their familiar foe St. Joseph's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.9, the Hawks 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
