Softball Recap: Paradise Bobcats vs. Oroville Tigers
Paradise had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Oroville Tigers 14-1 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bobcats also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.
Grace Meldrum made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Sequoya Fields was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Grace Buzzard, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Paradise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oroville only managed seven hits.
Oroville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paradise will welcome Central Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oroville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Willows at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
