Basketball Recap: Cypress Ridge Takes a Loss

Cypress Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fort Bend Marshall Buffalos. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1084th, while the Buffalos are ranked 299th).

Cypress Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Fort Bend Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Cypress Ridge will be playing at home against Cypress Woods at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Ridge is facing Cypress Woods at the right time seeing as Cypress Woods is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Fort Bend Marshall, they will head out to challenge Victoria East at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Victoria East is on a three-game streak of home wins, Fort Bend Marshall a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
