Basketball Recap: Deweyville Takes a Loss

Deweyville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 59-24 loss at the hands of the Sabine Pass Sharks. The Pirates were down 42-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Sabine Pass' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daiven Miller, who posted 11 points and four steals. Cale Kile was another key player, putting up two points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds.

Deweyville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Sabine Pass, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season.

Deweyville will host Evadale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evadale will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Deweyville surely won't give up without a fight. Sabine Pass has already played their next game (against Big Sandy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
