Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Destiny Christian Academy's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Destiny Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 79-64 bruising from the Millennium Falcons. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Falcons are ranked 1342nd).

Destiny Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mohamed Kamara, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points and five assists, and Jaylen Valdez, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 20 points. That's the most assists Kamara has posted since back in November of 2024. Danny Panda was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Destiny Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Millennium, with the win, they broke their 15-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-18.

Destiny Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-62 defeat against Millennium on the 25th. Millennium has also already played their next game (against Turlock Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
