Football Recap: Mathis Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mathis can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past the West Oso Bears with a 20-14 victory. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

When it comes to explaining why West Oso lost, don't look at Ryan Guerrero. Despite the final result, he rushed for 122 yards, and also picked up 40 receiving yards.

Mathis' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for West Oso, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
