Lakeland Preparatory put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Lexington Tigers by a score of 6-1. The six-run effort marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Brett Godwin made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Noah Lindsey and Peeler Easton did most of the damage at the plate: Lindsey scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Easton went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Lindsey is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Peeler Emerson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lakeland Preparatory's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Lexington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lakeland Preparatory Lions challenge Hardin County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lexington, they will host Bolivar Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
