New Glarus fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Cambridge on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Patrick Alt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 7.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

New Glarus' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Cambridge, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, New Glarus will challenge Johnson Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cambridge, they will head out to square off against Wisconsin Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
