Football Game Preview: Northwest vs. Chilhowee/Leeton

The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Northwest will square off against Chilhowee/Leeton at 7:00 PM on Friday. Northwest are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.

The match between Northwest and Osceola last Friday was not a total blowout, but with Northwest falling 34-54, it was darn close. Northwest got a solid performance out of senior Connor Tichenor, who rushed for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Tichenor has now scored at least one touchdown in the past eight games.

Meanwhile, Chilhowee/Leeton took an ego-bruising loss against Norborne/Hardin-Central three weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Friday. Chilhowee/Leeton took their contest against Kansas City East Christian Academy 38-30. The victory was some much needed relief for Chilhowee/Leeton as it spelled the end of their seven-game losing streak.

Chilhowee/Leeton's victory lifted them to 1-7 while Northwest's defeat dropped them down to 3-5. With five turnovers, Northwest had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if Chilhowee/Leeton exploit that vulnerability.
