Softball Recap: Lancaster Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Colton typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Lancaster proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Yellowjackets by a score of 9-4.

Elsy Herrera and Jordyn Zinn did most of the damage at the plate: Herrera went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Zinn went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Zinn has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Acosta, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Lancaster has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Colton, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

Coming up, Lancaster will host Knight at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Colton, they are taking a road trip to challenge Arrowhead Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
