Football Recap: Colonial Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Colonial's offense. They were outmatched by the Boone Braves and fell 58-0. While losing is never fun, the Grenadiers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Braves are ranked 40th).

Sean Elliott threw for 90 yards on 11 of 32 attempts. Jacory Day was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards.

Sam Johnson produced another solid effort throwing for 155 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes for Boone. That's the most passing touchdowns Johnson has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Hardy Jr, who rushed for 67 yards and one score.

Colonial has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Boone, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Colonial will welcome University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grenadiers will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Boone, they will take on Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
