Basketball Recap: Harlan Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Harlan came tearing into Monday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Winterset Huskies by a score of 64-55. That's more bragging rights for the Cyclones, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Harlan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. As for Winterset, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Harlan will host Lewis Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Harlan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Lewis Central likes a good challenge. Winterset has already played their next game (against Boone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
