Baseball Recap: Montrose Comes Up Short

Montrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Brandon Blackhawks, falling 7-1.

Damon Paicz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

Montrose's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Brandon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-7.

Coming up, Montrose will square off against Byron at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Brandon, they will take on Lake Fenton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
