Preview: Victoria Knights vs. Kinsley Coyotes
The Victoria Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kinsley Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Friday, Victoria was the victim of a tough 58-36 defeat at the hands of St. John. While losing is never fun, Victoria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while St. John is ranked 48th).
Victoria's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lindsey Scheck, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Averi Windholz who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Dinkel, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kinsley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 53-19 loss at the hands of Macksville.
Victoria's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Kinsley, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Victoria against Kinsley when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 73-41 win. Does Victoria have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kinsley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
