Baseball Game Preview: Silsbee Tigers vs. Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears

The Silsbee Tigers will square off against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a proper cat-fight when Silsbee faced off against Bridge City on Friday. The Tigers fell 7-3 to the Cardinals. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost six in a row.

Silsbee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendon Hughes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Little Cypress-Mauriceville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lumberton.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 18-5. As for Silsbee, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7-1.
