Xavier Butler Delivers Electric Performance Vs Archer

Starting off the list is South Gwinnett's Xavier Butler, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Butler rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 115 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

South Gwinnett pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Butler and South Gwinnett will square off against Grayson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Eric Ramey Iii Delivers Best Effort of Season

South Gwinnett was led to victory by Eric Ramey Iii, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Ramey Iii rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

On the season, Ramey Iii has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 106.3 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had two rushing touchdowns.

Big Game from Johnson As Newton Won 46-6

Zion Johnson's rushing tear continued on Saturday as he dropped his eighth-straight game with 105+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 194 yards on only five carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

The victory got Newton back to even at 3-3. Johnson and Newton will venture away from home to square off against Rockdale County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Jackson Cook Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

South Gwinnett was led to victory by Jackson Cook, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Cook rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.

On the year, Cook has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 49.3 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 28 receiving yards per game.

Deron Benson Makes It Two for Newton

The second Newton player making an appearance here is Deron Benson, and for good reason. He threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes.

For the year, Benson has thrown 12 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 154.7 passing yards per game.
