Basketball Recap: Evergreen Christian Comes Up Short

Evergreen Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Springdale Prep Lions, falling 73-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since November 25, 2024.

Springdale Prep found their leader in sophomore Maddie Poole, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points. Anya Neufeld was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Evergreen Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Springdale Prep, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen Christian will venture away from home to challenge Chelsea Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Springdale Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Lancaster Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
