Football Game Preview: Evergreen Wolverines vs. Renton Red Hawks + How To Watch

Evergreen is 0-7 against Renton since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Wolverines will head out to face off against the Red Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Evergreen has given up an average of 40.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Evergreen is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had to suffer through a 46-16 loss at the hands of Sammamish.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Renton, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They blew past Inglemoor 27-7 on Friday. The Red Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Patrick Turner and Peyton Mrsny. Turner had a great game and rushed for 194 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Mrsny was balling out in the loss, rushing for 128 yards and one touchdown.

One reason for the win was Renton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Oseia Mitchell and Cameron Calhoun, who each picked up two sacks apiece. Renton got some further help from Mitchell: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.

Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Renton, their record now sits at 5-3.

Evergreen was taken down by Renton 41-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
