Baseball Game Preview: Mansfield Timberview Wolves vs. Polytechnic Parrots

The Mansfield Timberview Wolves will challenge the Polytechnic Parrots at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Polytechnic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mansfield Timberview, who comes in off a win.

Mansfield Timberview took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over Molina.

Chris Aguirre was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Aguirre was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Aguirre wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gio Mendoza, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another was Keenan Loyd, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Mansfield Timberview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Carter-Riverside, falling 18-2.
