Homestead has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 10-1 to the Los Gatos Wildcats. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Homestead fell to 3-1. As for Los Gatos, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.

Coming up, Homestead will take on St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Los Gatos, they will square off against Los Altos at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Gatos' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Los Altos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
