Oyster River and Merrimack Valley pushed the score to 6-2 the last time they played Merrimack Valley, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Bobcats' defense stepped up to hand the Pride a 1-0 shutout. Given Oyster River's advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Merrimack Valley are ranked 45th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
