Volleyball Recap: Sean Ginter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rome Free Academy over Proctor

Rome Free Academy and Proctor squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Rome Free Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Proctor Raiders by a score of 3-2. The Black Knights have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Rome Free Academy took Proctor into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 22-25, 15-9.

Rome Free Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Ginter, who had 33 digs and four assists. That's the most digs Ginter has posted over his last seven matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Ilija Wenz, who had 13 digs, 12 kills, and four blocks.

Rome Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Proctor, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

As of now, neither Rome Free Academy nor Proctor have any future games scheduled.
