Baseball Game Preview: Palo Alto Vikings vs. Burlingame Panthers

The Palo Alto Vikings will face off against the Burlingame Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Palo Alto didn't have quite enough to beat Homestead and fell 5-4.

Palo Alto got a good showing from Jackson Ehrlich, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Ehrlich has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Coco Vonderhaar was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Fung, who earned one RBI and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Burlingame came up short against Menlo-Atherton on Friday and fell 7-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Burlingame also got a good showing from Nick Armstrong, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Armstrong has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Palo Alto's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Burlingame, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.
