Basketball Recap: Port Neches-Groves Takes a Loss

Port Neches-Groves lost against Barbers Hill back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Port Neches-Groves Indians took a 59-40 bruising from the Barbers Hill Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Eagles are ranked 138th).

Port Neches-Groves has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. As for Barbers Hill, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-10.

Port Neches-Groves will venture away from home to take on Beaumont United at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barbers Hill, they will host Nederland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barbers Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Nederland likes a good challenge.
