Softball Recap: Southeast Halifax Wins Going Away Against Rocky Mount Prep

There's no place like home for Southeast Halifax, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars with a sharp 25-10 victory on Tuesday. The match marked the Trojans' most dominant win of the season so far.

Southeast Halifax got a massive performance out of Ta'Nauriah Johnson, who scored four runs and stole eight bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amari Jackson, who scored three runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Southeast Halifax pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 21.6 runs this season. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Southeast Halifax will have a chance to go back-to-back against Rocky Mount Prep: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
