Basketball Recap: Jefferson Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Jefferson Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 60-9 takedown of Roanoke Catholic last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jefferson Christian Academy Cardinals lost 56-30 to the Virginia Episcopal School Bishops on Friday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bishops earlier this season, when they won 65-62.

Despite the loss, Jefferson Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Abby Reed, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Sasha Brody continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Virginia Episcopal School, going 10 for 24 en route to 29 points along with five boards and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Brody has scored at least a third of Virginia Episcopal School's points. Another player making a difference was Mia Wolfe, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

Jefferson Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Virginia Episcopal School, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Jefferson Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountain Mission at 5:00 p.m. One thing working in Mountain Mission's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Virginia Episcopal School, they are taking a road trip to square off against Chatham Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Virginia Episcopal School is facing Chatham Hall at the right time seeing as Chatham Hall is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
