            Softball Recap: Mountain Crest Mustangs vs. Box Elder Bees        
        
		
        
        
            Mountain Crest had lost nine straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-15 to make it ten. They came up short against  the Box Elder Bees, falling  13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by  exactly ten  runs.
  Dani Alexander was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-2 with two  runs and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Morgan Coulam, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI and one  run.
As for Box Elder, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.
On Box Elder's side,  Lucy Braegger made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Braegger has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Brooke Richards, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March.  Kailee Hall was another key player,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Coming up, Mountain Crest will be taking part in a tournament against Skyridge  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Box Elder, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Northridge  at 3:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
