Softball Game Preview: Pelham Panthers vs. Prattville Christian Academy Panthers

Pelham will square off against Prattville Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pelham duked it out with West Blocton on Thursday. The Panthers took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Jordan Young was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Howard, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Prattville Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-1 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Alivia Messick looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Peyton Thrash was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Saniyah Weaver was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Prattville Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Pelham's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-15. As for Prattville Christian Academy, their record now sits at 30-6.

Pelham might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Prattville Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February. Can Pelham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
