Football Recap: Legend Starts Season with Victory Against Fruita Monument + How To Watch

Legend took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They claimed a resounding 63-10 win over the Fruita Monument Wildcats. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Titans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Wildcats are ranked 48th).

Dj Bordeaux was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 237 yards and five TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one score. Kellen Marchand was another key player, picking up 86 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Freddie Burke, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Legend didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Braylon Aukland and Logan Johnson.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legend will welcome Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fruita Monument, they will be playing at home against Grand Junction Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
