Baseball Recap: Land O' Lakes Takes a Loss

Land O' Lakes was the 6-3 winner over River Ridge when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Land O' Lakes Gators fell just short of the River Ridge Royal Knights by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aiden Marsiglio was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Land O' Lakes saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Vollsteadt, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Land O' Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for River Ridge, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.

Land O' Lakes has already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Sunlake on the 7th. As for River Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Dunedin on the 12th.
