Basketball Recap: San Jacinto Takes a Loss

San Jacinto lost against Temescal Canyon back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The San Jacinto Tigers took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Temescal Canyon Titans. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 904th, while the Titans are ranked 451st).

Despite the loss, San Jacinto still got an impressive performance from Josiah Mejia, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Mejia has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daylen Love, who posted six points and six boards.

San Jacinto has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Temescal Canyon, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

San Jacinto has already played their next matchup (against West Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Temescal Canyon has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Elsinore.
