Volleyball Recap: Kuna Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Borah

Kuna faced Borah in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Kavemen fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The Kavemen haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kuna actually scored more points across those five sets (100-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-13.

Sophie McClellan paced Kuna's offense, picking up 14 kills. McClellan got some help from Sophie Thorne and her 45 assists. Sam McClellan controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kuna suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 2-4. As for Borah, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Kuna has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Rocky Mountain on the 27th. As for Borah, they will challenge Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
