Basketball Recap: Dawson County Comes Up Short

Dawson County was the 70-63 winner over Greater Atlanta Christian when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Dawson County Tigers came up short against the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans on Tuesday, falling 69-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Spartans since January 27, 2018.

Greater Atlanta Christian was led to victory by Mario Hill Jr and Mikey Carpenter. Hill Jr went 10 for 14 on his way to 26 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Carpenter went 7 for 12 on his way to 21 points and five assists. Hill Jr's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Baer Bailey, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Dawson County's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Dawson County will face off against Lumpkin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they will square off against Chestatee at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Greater Atlanta Christian is facing Chestatee at the right time seeing as Chestatee is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
