Baseball Game Preview: Nature Coast Tech Sharks vs. Umatilla Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Nature Coast Tech will face off against Umatilla. The Sharks will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Nature Coast Tech 3.2, Umatilla 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Nature Coast Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Umatilla. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sharks considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

BRYCE HEWELL made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, RAYMOND GROETSCH looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

Back at the plate, JOE ROZSA was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of AIDAN O'NOLAN, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Nature Coast Tech lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Nature Coast Tech's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Umatilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.
