Baseball Recap: Cate Gets the Win

Cate won the last time they faced Santa Clara and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rams came out on top against the Saints by a score of 8-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Quinn Pullen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Peter Lehman was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Chase Meyer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Cate now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Santa Clara, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Cate will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
