Baseball Game Preview: Irvington Vikings vs. James Logan Colts

Irvington is 0-10 against James Logan since May of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Irvington and Moreau Catholic had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Vikings fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 3-1 last Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Mariners since April 27, 2022.

Giovanni Pena was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
