Softball Recap: Augusta Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Augusta's offense. They lost 16-0 to the Nicholas County Bluejackets on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bluejackets: they've now lost four in a row.

Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Nicholas County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Augusta will take on Manchester at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Nicholas County, they will challenge Mason County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mason County's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Nicholas County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
