Soccer Game Preview: Illini Bluffs vs. Abingdon/Avon

The Illini Bluffs Tigers will face off against the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Illini Bluffs' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Bloomington Central Catholic 4-0.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Abingdon/Avon made sure to put some goals up on the board against St. Bede on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 7-0 win. It was an even better day for Kolbe Hightower as he scored six goals for his team.

Abingdon/Avon has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those eight contests. As for Illini Bluffs, their win bumped their record up to 11-5-3.

Illini Bluffs came up short against Abingdon/Avon in their previous matchup back in September, falling 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
