Basketball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Troy Trojans 58-23. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Athens lost, don't look at Nick Grazul. Despite the final result, he posted six points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Troy, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will welcome Wyalusing Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Canton at 7:15 p.m.
