Basketball Game Preview: Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM vs. Woodlands Academy Wildcats

Cristo Rey St. Martin is 1-8 against Woodlands Academy since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM will square off against the Woodlands Academy Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Monday, Cristo Rey St. Martin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 62-56 to Kenosha Christian Life.

Despite the loss, Cristo Rey St. Martin got top-tier performance from Alexy Chapa, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 13 boards. Chapa's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Lilibeth Martinez was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 16 points.

Meanwhile, Woodlands Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Walther Christian Academy, falling 46-26.

Cristo Rey St. Martin's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Woodlands Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Cristo Rey St. Martin strolled past Woodlands Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 43-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cristo Rey St. Martin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
