Basketball Recap: Burlington Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Carrboro

Burlington Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 76-54 margin over the Carrboro Jaguars. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while the Jaguars are ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Carrboro still got an impressive performance from Bakari Watkins, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Charway, Jr., who posted five points.

Burlington Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Carrboro, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Burlington Christian Academy will take on Queen's Grant at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Burlington Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three games. As for Carrboro, they will look to defend their home court on January 3, 2025 against Vance County at 8:00 p.m. Carrboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
