Softball Game Preview: Alvarado Indians vs. Venus Bulldogs

The Alvarado Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Venus Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alvarado will be strutting in after a victory while Venus will be coming in after a loss.

Alvarado will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Life Waxahachie on Friday. Alvarado was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Life Waxahachie. The contest marked the Indians' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Venus has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.06 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against Godley, falling 11-1. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Venus' defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Alvarado, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-9.

Alvarado couldn't quite finish off Venus in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can Alvarado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
