The New Castle Trojans will challenge the Delta Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, New Castle put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They came out on top against Shenandoah by a score of 14-10.
Caiden Regan made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Regan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Carson Bell was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Arrin Murray was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Delta made easy work of Eastbrook on Monday and carried off a 20-2 win. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Kaeb Stebbins looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Delta's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Chase Flannery was incredible, firing off two home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-4. He also put up two runs, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chase Ritchie, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Delta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Delta's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for New Castle, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
New Castle might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Delta in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Trojans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
